Protect your home before your spring break vacation

This year’s winter hasn’t resulted in much snow or cold, but many Midwesterners are still looking forward to a break from the gloomy gray skies. As you prepare to head somewhere sunnier, you may find yourself worrying about what you’re forgetting. Toothbrush? Pajamas? Swimsuit? Check, check, check. Don’t let that forgotten thing be your home security!

How does a monitoring center help people with a medical alert?

Medical alerts are one of my favorite alerts to respond to. I feel we are providing peace of mind to those who want to live independently but still want someone to check in with them. WH International Response Center (WHIRC) dispatchers will call customers when they accidentally trip their medical alert — like a kitten batting at the pendant — or when an actual fall happens, and they need assistance. I like that we bring a reassuring voice to those in need and help them feel at ease. For example, we had received a medical alert from a woman who had fallen in her house and no one else was around to help her. I was able to get the location of the house she was in, get her the help she needed, and notify those who were on her emergency call list.

WH Security accounts are monitored locally 24/7 by WHIRC.
